The Great Skirtful of Stones

The Great Skirtful of Stones - Ancient Voices
A major Bronze or Iron Age tomb. this site is now very much overgrown with the moorland encroaching slowly into it. It can be seen (if you know where to look) for miles around, and from my back window. Two hundred years ago nearly 300 cart loads of stone was removed from the tomb and used for building and repairing walls. There is a strange prehistoric 'ring' nearby that no one has figured out it's purpose, and a huge prehistoric graveyard immediately east. A fascinating area.
