Blubberhouses Cairn

Blubberhouses Cairn - The Wild Moors
This is lonely and very bleak Blubbershouses moor. The word Blubberhouses is Anglo Saxon and means (roughly translated) 'the dwelling at the side of a babbling brook'. A Roman road passes through parts of the moor before disappearing into the heather. This cairn is a good place for a break with the spread of the moors before you.
